The Ballet Scout Starting Out

The Ballet Scout, an organization with the goal of helping dancers find resources to grow their careers, approached me in February 2022 about helping their company redesign and grow their website.

Originally built with basic bootstrap templates without the help of any kind of designer, the original Ballet Scout site needed some work to become the grand platform that its founders envisioned.

Establishing Style

The first step towards improving the product was to create a consistent style guide that was easily accessible to all employees.

Colors, fonts, and logos were organized together as to maximize usability, and sample objects were included to the left to provide examples of said elements in use.

A New Face for The Ballet Scout

Using the new style guide, the home page of the site was given a more modern, clean look. The redesign gives the site more personality, as well as an improved approach to site navigation.

With the redesign out of the way, it was time for the development of new features.
